August 17, 2016, New Delhi; Huawei finally unveiled their much-anticipated flagship smartphone in India, Huawei P9. Along with the P9, Huawei also unveiled Stainless Steel edition of Huawei Smartwatch, but the Chinese telecommunications giant skipped P9 Plus, for now, there was no mention of P9 Plus at the launch event. Huawei P9 is priced at Rs.39,999 and is available via Flipkart in India, along with the Smartwatch which is priced at Rs.22999 and is available at Flipkart as well. The phone features a Leica branded Dual camera setup on the rear and packs an Octa Core processor under the hood.

Display & Design
Huawei P9 packs a beautiful 5.2" Inch IPS LCD Full HD Display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the pixel density is 423 ppi. The display contrast is very good & color reproduction has been improved. The display is one of the brightest out there, it can produce a maximum brightness of 500 nits, which means the display will remain bright & clear even under sunlight. Huawei P9 is available internationally in two variants; White Ceramic & Metal variant, the ceramic variant boasts a ceramic unibody design, while the metal variant is made up of aerospace grade aluminum. Huawei P9 measures 7 mm in thickness and weighs 144 grams. The brushed aluminum variant is available in Haze gold, while the sandblast aluminum phones are available in Rose Gold, Mystic Silver, and Prestige Gold.

Huawei P9 is powered by an Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 955 processor which has a Quad-Core 2.5GHz Cortex A72 & Quad-Core 1.8GHz Cortex A53 along with a 3GB RAM, Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, and 32GB storage which is expandable using microSD card up to 128GB. If we recall, Huawei also unveiled a 4GB RAM & 64GB Storage variant during the global launch, but that won't be available in India as of yet. Also note that microSD card takes up SIM slot 2, so you can either use P9 with two SIM cards or one SIM and microSD card.

Camera
The main highlight of P9 is its Leica-branded camera. Huawei P9 comes with Leica optics & sports a Dual 12 Megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus, Dual tone Dual LED Flash and a pixel size of 1.25 µm. The Dual rear camera setup of P9 made headlines all over, out of the two, one camera captures standard color photos while the second one only captures monochromes or a black & white image. The monochrome sensor is capable of capturing 3 times more light, which makes P9 one of the best for low-light photography. Dual cameras work as a team and the photos clicked are merged together and the outcome is simply amazing. The front camera is an 8 Megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Both the cameras are capable of shooting Full HD 1080p videos.
Other Features
The connectivity options include 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS support, USB Type-C 1.0, IR Blaster etc. Huawei P9 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, topped with Huawei's own Emotion UI 4.1. The UI offers themes and other options to tweak your experience. The battery under the hood is a 3000 mAh Li-Ion battery, it is non-removable and supports fast charging.
