In this growing Tech age, having a laptop is a must for everyone, especially students, who require a computer for their daily research, studies, project work etc. moreover, a laptop can also be used as a medium of entertainment and de-stressing. A few years ago, owning a laptop was similar to owning a car, it was an expensive piece of technology which only rich used to flaunt, but today it costs lesser than a flagship smartphone, this change of time made high-tech technology accessible for everyone, now everyone can afford a laptop and now there are different models available in the market with different specifications that you can literally choose the best one for your nature of work. I've personally used a lot of laptop brands but my most favorite till date is Lenovo.
Lenovo G5135 Laptop Overview
Recently I needed to buy a laptop for my cousin sister, I visited a Reliance Digital outlet which was located in my neighborhood, though I prefer online shopping most of the time, this time, I decided to visit the store and see if I can get any good deals offline. The laptop I chose was Lenovo G5135, I had this model in my mind so I decided to have a look at it.
Design wise Lenovo G5135 was very minimalistic. It was sleek, elegant and quite decent in appearance. It weighs mere 2.5 kg and measures 24.9 mm in thickness. The laptop feels really light and portable. The sleek 24.9 mm design fits in almost all carry bags with ease.
I was really impressed with its specifications. With a 15.6" Inch HD LED Display of resolution 1366 x 768 pixels, the screen looked stunning. Powered by Intel Dual-Core Celeron N2830 processor clocked at 2.14 GHz and coupled with 4 GB DDR3L RAM, this laptop looked perfect for my sister. Storage on board was 750 GB which is enough to store loads of movies, music, data etc. and Integrated Intel HD graphics make casual gaming a bliss on this device (obviously this won't make it a high-end gaming device, but it’s great for casual gaming).
With the fading trend of Optical Drives, this laptop still keeps them alive with a DVD+/-RW drive installed. Other features include an inbuilt Webcam & microphone. For connectivity, there is an option for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Fast Ethernet and various ports on the sides. You get 1 USB 3.0 port along with 2 USB 2.0 ports, A VGA port, HDMI, LAN (RJ-45), Audio jacks and an inbuilt card reader. Lenovo G5135 runs Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit version which is upgradable to Windows 10 by Microsoft. Battery wise you get a 4-cell Li-ion 32 Wh battery which supplies enough power to last a good number of hours.
Why I chose Reliance Digital?
Overall the product was amazing and was available Online for Rs.26,490 which was a steal deal for me. So when I entered Reliance Digital outlet, my plan was to compare the online & offline prices and see where I benefit the most. I had a few experiences with Reliance Digital in the past where I purchased some consumer electronics like smartphones, earphones, and a laptop, during that time I was a bit skeptic for buying things online but I did get good deals at Reliance digital, so this time again I decided to check what's in for us.
Reliance Digital had amazing deals & discounts on many different products, including the one which I was here for. Lenovo G5135 was available at Reliance Digital but to my surprise, the price proposed by Reliance Digital was less than the price of the same online. I checked the deal twice and confirmed that Reliance Digital price was less. Here it was available for Rs.25,999 which is Rs.500 less than online price (not a big difference) but at Reliance Digital, I was also offered a freebie with the purchase of this laptop, a Bluetooth Speaker worth Rs.1499, can you believe it?
Freebie Offered
Reliance Digital offers Itek Wireless Rager II Bluetooth Light Show Portable Speaker with built-in microphone for hands-free calling, microSD card slot for playing music from microSD card, USB slot for streaming music using USB cord, an inbuilt FM receiver, and AUX jack. The speaker comes with Light Pulse to the Beat design, in which light flashes along with the beats. The Bluetooth speaker is worth Rs.1499
Additional Benefits
Apart from the freebies offered and discounted price, I was also given Reliance resQ care support which provides maintenance and repair services throughout the year. There was also EMI options for those who want to purchase it on installments and finally I was also offered Exchange offer, in which I exchanged my old laptop, which was Acer Aspire E1-571 for an additional discount in price. So by making use of the exchange offer, the price of my new laptop was significantly reduced. So much at Offline store? I still can't believe it.
Conclusion
So this was just a brief description of my experience shopping at Reliance Digital. This made me realize that amazing deals also exist in Offline world. So next time when you are planning to buy something big, do visit your nearest Reliance Digital Outlet before making your purchase, I’m sure there will be something for you there.
