10 Reasons : Why You Should Buy Nextbit Robin, World's First Cloud Phone

Nextbit Robin is a new arrival in India, launched in May 2016, it definitely is unique phone according to me. The phone is designed to stand out and looks very pretty in my opinion. Nextbit designed the phone keeping handling in mind before looks, it is kinda non-slippery & more user-friendly than other smartphones. The highlight feature of this phone is Cloud First Technology, it is said to be the world's first cloud phone. The cloud first technology automatically backs up rarely used data to the cloud & clears phone storage. Below are 10 Reasons Why you should buy Nextbit Robin smartphone.

10 Reasons : Why Nextbit Robin is Awesome

1. Unique Design

Nextbit Robin is quite different from the smartphones we're used to looking at nowadays. It has a minimalistic unibody design with all the controls in their right places. It not very slippery like nowadays flagships with their metal body, Robin is made of plastic but still looks amazing, at least I think so. Robin's unique design does raise many eyebrows and since all the phones nowadays look alike, Robin brings a refreshingly unique design which stands out and differentiates you from the crowd.

2. Reasonable Price

So looking at all these amazing features you might be thinking that this will be an expensive phone but nope, Nextbit Robin costs Rs.19,999 in India, that is less than $300, isn't it great? You are getting high-end stuff for a mid-range price and looking at Robin, I can say, it's worth every penny. And well, that's one of the reasons why you should opt for Robin.

3. Cloud First Technology

Robin is world's first cloud phone, it comes with cloud first technology, which automatically backs up rarely used data, videos, photos, apps etc. to the cloud and clears your phone storage. All backing up happens in background & when you are in Wi-Fi network. When Robin backs up your photos / videos to the cloud, it leaves behind a thumbnail which can be viewed normally on the device. When you need your data, Robin immediately loads it back from the cloud for you (internet connectivity required). This feature is really helpful, it will move rarely used stuff to cloud & may space for new data, so you'll never run out of space.

Robin comes with 100 GB Free Cloud Storage, so you're covered up. There are four LED lights on the back which light up when cloud magic is happening.

4. Amazing Specs

Robin comes with a bright 5.2 Inch IPS Full HD 1080p Display. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Chip (64 bit) with a Hexa-Core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz along with 3GB RAM and Adreno 418 GPU. There is 32 GB of internal storage, 2680 mAh battery, Fingerprint scanner, NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, USB-Type C connectivity and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. Other features include GPS with A-GPS.

5. High-Quality Accessories

Or I must say Accessory. Robin comes with a USB Type-C cable and a SIM ejector pin, that's all. The Type-C cable is flat and of very good quality. The packaging of Robin is unique, unlike other smartphones. There is no earphones or charging adapter inside the box, you'll have to buy them separately but they're good quality as well. Charging adapter is sold separately and that is a shame. But whatever you get in the box is of good quality and durable, and by whatever I mean the cable, that's all you get inside.

6. Fingerprint Sensor

Unlike other smartphones which come with fingerprint sensor positioned either on the back or inside the Home button, Nextbit Robin's fingerprint sensor is placed inside the power button, which is on the right side of the device. This makes fingerprint sensor easy to access and very natural. When you hold your phone your finger automatically near the sensor, you don;t have to stretch all the way to the home button or search for the sensor on the back. I'm really impressed with the team of Nextbit, they did a great job with fingerprint sensor placement.

7. Front Facing Stereo Speakers

Nextbit Robin houses front facing stereo speakers, one at the top next to the front camera and the other one below the display where usually other phones have the home button. There are no physical home/back/menu buttons on Robin. The speakers are loud, clear and do their job well. Robin will be a delight for Music lovers & people who like to play it loud. Since there are no earphones provided inside the retail box, you'll have to buy them separately, till then you can enjoy the stereo speakers.

8. Stock OS Feel

Nextbit Robin comes with Stock Android feel but it is not completely stock OS. The phone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 topped with their own skin but the OS still is very much like Stock Android. I really loved it, I don't know about the others, but if you like stock feel then you'll too love it. The UI is light & really smooth. I believe that user experience is more important than overpowered specifications.

9. Decent Camera

Robin comes with a killer combination of 13 Megapixels rear & 5 Megapixel front cameras. The camera is a good one, it performs well in almost all lighting situations, whether it be natural daylight or artificial light, the photos shot by Robin look great. The camera does struggle in low light conditions but still is better than many other phones. Other camera features are Phase Detection Autofocus, Dual Tone LED Flash, Full HD 1080p video recording etc.

10. No Flash Sales

Robin is available online and you don't need any invite or to participate in any flash sale to acquire it, you can straight away buy it. In India, Nextbit Robin is available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs.19,999 ($298) with two color options and those are Midnight and Mint. Nextbit announced that a third color Robin will be available soon in India via Flipkart. The Ember edition of Nextbit Robin will be a limited edition variant and will be available in limited stocks.
