After the success of Huawei’s P9 in the Indian market, Huawei’s smartphone e-brand Honor launched its latest flagship smartphone, Honor 8, yesterday in India. Honor 8 comes with Dual 12 Megapixel rear camera (similar to Huawei P9), Kirin 950 processor and 4 GB RAM. The phone is power packed and comes with two years warranty & 3 months accidental coverage for free at a price tag of Rs.29,999 in India. Honor also introduced two new smartphones in India and they are; Honor 8 Smart and Honor Holly 3, both are priced at Rs.19,999 and Rs.9,999 respectively. We covered the launch event which happened in New Delhi on October 12, 2016, and below are the technical specifications & first impressions of the smartphones. Honor 8 : Dual Rear Camera Smartphone
Honor 8 on first glance, looks premium & stylish and just like Huawei P9, Honor 8 comes with a similar Dual rear camera setup. It flaunts a sleek and elegant design with glass construction on both the sides. The phone really feels good in hand and is no doubt ‘One of the best looking Smartphones in the Market’ at the moment. At 153 grams & 7.5 mm thickness, Honor 8 packs a 5.2" Inch LTPS Full HD Display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 423 ppi pixel density. It is a Dual SIM phone which supports a Nano SIM & a Micro SIM (hybrid slot)
The highlight feature of Honor 8 is the 12 Megapixel Dual-lens Rear Camera which is quite similar to Huawei P9’s camera, comprises of a RGB lens and a monochrome lens, both the camera lens works simultaneously like a team and deliver stunningly detailed & vivid pictures. The monochrome lens captures more light than the regular one, and the combination of monochrome & RGB delivers amazing picture quality with vivid colors and detailed pictures. The rear camera has f/2.2 aperture, Laser autofocus, Dual-LED (dual-tone) flash and 1.2 microns pixel size. Honor 8 scores good marks when it comes to camera, the front 8 Megapixel camera works very well under low lighting conditions, which means your selfies will be stunning even in low light. The camera can shoot Full HD 1080p videos at 60fps/30fps and 720p videos at 120fps.
Under the hood it packs a 16 nanometer HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset which has an Octa-Core processor (Quad-Core 2.3GHz Cortex-A72 and Quad-Core 1.8GHz Cortex A53) with 4 GB LDDR4 RAM, Mali-T880 MP4 GPU and with two storage options of 32GB & 64GB, which are further expandable using microSD card up to 128 GB. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, topped with Huawei's custom Emotion UI 4.1 user interface. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 with A2DP, EDR & LE, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS, NFC support, Infrared port, USB Type-C connector, Rear Fingerprint Sensor, Fast Battery charging support (Smart Power 4.0) which Huawei claims to charge 47% in 30 minutes. Honor 8 packs a 3000 mAh Li-Po Non-removable battery and is available in four different colors, which are; Midnight Black, Pearl White, Sapphire Blue & Gold.

Honor 8 Smart : Power Packed & Smart
Honor 8 was not the only phone to launch that day, Honor 8 Smart was also introduced with a mid-range pricing and amazing features. The main difference between Honor 8 & Honor 8 Smart is that; Honor 8 Smart comes with single Camera sensor, different processor & storage options. Honor 8 Smart comes in Aircraft grade Aluminium alloy design, with 5.2" Inch Full HD Display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 424 ppi pixel density. Powered by Kirin 650 64-bit Octa-Core processor, clocked at 2.0GHz, along with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It is a Single SIM phone and supports Nano SIM, with connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS support, NFC and IR Blaster. Honor 8 Smart packs a 13 Megapixel Rear Camera, which is a Sony IMX214 sensor, with f/2.0 aperture, Autofocus etc. The front camera is an 8 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. Honor 8 Smart is equipped with a 3000 mAh battery which is claimed to last for more than 1.4 days. A fingerprint sensor is located at the rear section, similar to Honor 8. Honor Holly 3 : Awesomeness in Low Budget
Another phone which was unveiled at Honor 8 launch event in New Delhi was Honor Holly 3, a low-budget smartphone. Honor Holly 3 is the successor of Honor Holly 2, and is priced at Rs.9,999 in India. Honor Holly 3 comes with a 5.5" Inch IPS LCD HD Display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 267 ppi. It weighs 168 grams and is 8.5 mm in thickness. Runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Topped with Emotion UI 4.1, Holly 3 is a Dual SIM phone and supports 4G LTE. It is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 620 chipset, Octa-Core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, coupled along with 2 GB RAM, Mali-450MP4 GPU and 16 GB internal storage. Honor Holly 3 also supports microSD card up to 128 GB.
The Rear camera of Honor Holly 3 is a 13 Megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1/4" sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size with features like face detection, autofocus, HDR, panorama etc. It can shoot Full HD 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
