Design

Honestly saying, SoundBot SB574 wireless bluetooth speaker are one of the best looking speaker I've ever used or seen lately. The design is very minimal yet classy, the speakers are rectangular in shape and quite portable in size, you can easily carry them around in your backpack or handbag.

The front section of the speaker has the SoundBot logo and a fabric grill which kind of reminds me of Google Home mini. The fabric grill feels premium & gives the speaker a very classy look. There is also a hidden LED light behind the fabric grill, which lights up when you turn on the speaker. The rear section, sides, top and bottom section of the speaker has a dark gray wood finish which increases the charm.

The top section contains the Play/Pause button and the volume buttons. The buttons are rubberized and can be used for multiple actions like receiving calls, skipping tracks etc.

Sound Quality & Performance

To make sure that I do full justice to the speaker, I tested it intensively in terms of connectivity & audio performance for more than a week. I used it daily for a few hours using different devices. Pairing it with smartphone/laptop is very easy, all you need to do is turn on the speaker and then scan for bluetooth devices on your device, it works perfectly well on Android phone, iPhone or any other smartphone, Laptop etc. In case your device does not have Bluetooth, you can also connect the speaker using the 3.5 mm Aux cable.

Coming to the audio performance, the SoundBot SB574 speakers were quite loud, loud enough for most users and were surprisingly good in terms of the audio. The highs & mids were quite balanced and crisp, the vocals sounded good, the Bass was definitely there and was quite rightly balanced, the bass never overpowered the highs or mids, however by default I found the bass to be on a lower side as compared to the mids & highs, a quick tweaking of the equalizer worked wonders and made the bass just right. The SB574 speakers are good for a casual music experience at home or for watching movies, they're loud enough to entertain a group of people. They're perfect for small gatherings, movies and for carrying around. Overall the SoundBot SB574 speakers performed well in terms of audio quality, I personally liked them and use them quite often. The audio parameters were rightly  balanced with good amount of bass, clear vocals, crisp highs & mid tones.

Making/Receiving Calls

You can make/receive calls with SoundBot SB574 bluetooth speaker when connected to your smartphone. To receive the call, press the Play/Pause button once and you'll be able to hear the caller over the speaker. You can talk freely using the microphone present on the speaker (no need to carry the phone) until you are in the bluetooth range. The calls sound quite clear, without any distortion or static noise, the caller on the other end was also able to hear me clearly, no issues whatsoever.

Battery Performance

SoundBot SB574 Wireless bluetooth speaker packs a 2000 mAh battery which according to SoundBot, is capable of delivering up to 6 hours of playback time. I personally tested the battery multiple times before jumping to the conclusion, I tested the speaker intensively over the week, draining the battery several times and then charging it again to continue the torture. The result of this week-long battery torture came out quite positive, on average I got 5 hours of playback time over Bluetooth, and that too with volumes ranging between 70% to 95% throughout the test. I even went ahead and tested the speaker a couple of times over Aux connection and got 5 to 5.5 hours of playback time which is great. Coming to the charging time, it took roughly 4 hours to charge from zero to full.

Verdict

To conclude my testing of SB574, I would definitely recommend these speakers to people who are looking for a premium quality, classy looking budget friendly portable Bluetooth speaker which can be carried around with ease. The SoundBot SB574 packs two 3W speakers, making a total of 6W power, is quite loud and clear. The audio quality is great for the price with all the right boxes checked. The amount of bass present is good. Don't take me wrong when I say it has good bass, the bass present is good for average user, but if you're a bass-head then you might find the bass to be lower than what generally pleases you.

My Rating: 3.7 out of 5
